What is the Global Leadership Forecast?
DDI's Global Leadership Forecast is one of the most expansive leadership research projects of its kind. For more than 25 years, we have examined leadership development practices and leader experiences in major industries and economies around the globe. Research areas include retention, critical skills for the future, preferred learning modalities, and many more.
The last study captured data from 10,796 global leaders and 2,014 organizations worldwide across 50 countries and 24 major industry sectors.
Why Participate? Your Custom Benchmarking Report
After your company participates in our leadership research, you will receive a free custom, high-value report benchmarking your organization's leadership practices against global, regional, and industry averages as well as the best places to work.
The report also provides an understanding of your leaders' perceptions and opinions, plus a set of customized strengths and priorities for improving your leadership practices and capabilities.
What You Need to Know to Participate
1. How can I participate?
- Take the 15-minute HR Survey.
- Champion the initiative in your organization: Identify leaders of all levels and functions to take the Leader Survey. We recommend inviting 60-80 leaders to help meet the report eligibility requirement of 30 leaders.
- Watch your email: After you take the HR Survey, we will send you everything you need (email templates, links, deadlines, reminders) to help you meet your benchmarking goal.
- Deadlines: The HR Survey opens April 14, 2026, and closes June 15, 2026. The Leader Survey opens April 14, 2026, and closes June 30, 2026.
- Confidentiality: Your responses and your leaders' responses are always held confidential.

2. What topics does the survey cover?
These are just a few of the topics we cover in DDI’s Global Leadership Forecast survey:
- State of retention and best practices for retaining top talent
- How leaders feel about using artificial intelligence (AI) and what they are using it for
- Leadership motivations and challenges due to the rapid pace of business change
- Critical leadership skills for the future, including managing change
- Adoption of new approaches to learning, including virtual and immersive experiences
- Impact of organizational support on burnout and wellbeing
3. How can I qualify for a customized company report?
To qualify for a custom benchmarking report for your company, you must have one HR professional (or a C-level leader who can best represent your HR and organizational practices) participate in the HR Survey, plus at least 30 leaders from your company take the Leader Survey.
Your organization may also qualify if you have one C-level leader participate in addition to 30 additional leaders.
If you meet the above eligibility requirements, we will prepare your free company report and send it to you in October 2026. Note that the comprehensive Global Leadership Forecast 2027 report, which aggregates and analyzes global survey data, is published at the end of 2026. So you will benefit from the insights of your custom benchmarking report several months before our research is publicly released.
Your company's custom report is part of DDI's commitment to the science of leadership, so we offer it complimentary to you for participating in our research. Please note that this is a limited-time opportunity to participate, as the next Global Leadership Forecast report won't be published until 2029.

If your organization is already participating in the Global Leadership Forecast and working toward a custom benchmarking report, please access the Leader Survey using the unique link provided by your HR team.
If your organization is not already participating in the Global Leadership Forecast more broadly, you can still participate through this Leader Survey link. The leader survey takes an average of 10 minutes to complete.
